Walking along the shore, the crossbow he'd slung about his back banged against his hip with every other step. The sunlight glinted off the white beach, making him squint as he headed up past the sign post.
When John caught sight of Sharon, he slowed down considerably. He hadn't exactly been avoiding her, but it had probably looked that way.
November was a real pain in the ass.

There was no denying it any longer -- not that they'd exactly been doing that anyway. But people were likely starting to talk. While John didn't give a damn what people thought, he felt ill at ease for Hera's sake, for the boys.
He and Sharon had been supremely stupid -- but they were both determined to make the best of the situation.
"I had you penned in," he said, slowly walking over to where she had settled down.

"So what are you up to? You don't look like you've come to swim." She motioned to his clothes and weapon with her book.

Having left her daughter playing happily in New Atlantis, Kara now walked idly down the shoreline, listening to the waves crash beside her. She didn't know it, but the expression she wore matched her daughter's grin for grin, if Kara's was a touched by a hint of incredulity.
She was happy. Really happy, and it had everything to do with John. Catching herself for the tenth time that day, Kara scrubbed both hands over her cheeks, massaging away the smile that she could feel was ridiculous, but in mere moments it had returned.
Gods, she was so frakked.

"Hey," she blinked. "Where's Hera?" Not that she thought anything had happened to her, but Sharon was almost never on her own.

"Joe took her, told me to take an afternoon for myself. It's been...boring," Sharon said, and waved a hand, dismissing all of that. "What the frak's with you? Have you decided to trade in Starbuck and take Chuckles' callsign?"
