It's another busy weekend, having picked up my middlest daughter from Ohio and brought her home for the week to get ready to move to Florida for a couple of years.  There was some stress and angst regarding the logistics, but decisions have been made, so it's going better now.

Just finished a book, a psychological thriller: Follow You Home by Mark Edwards.  Definitely an addicting plot, well crafted, I liked the pacing and the way things were revealed.  Only problem, sort of, was the ending.  It was logical, appropriate, and fitting -- and it left me with a bad feeling.  Kind of an off-kilter feeling.  Well, for half a ( Read more... )

I have a Kindle now.

And I love it.  The font is easy to read, and I sized the text up a touch so I can read a lot longer without getting physically tired.  Also, it is so comfy reading in bed with it.  I think I'm reading about twice as much as I could before. And using it saves paper.

I know I was just lamenting the amount of rain we've been getting...but I'm still not tired of listening to it hitting the windows.

It's not so much less rain I want, but more sun.

And 36-hour days!  Yay!

The rain around here just keeps going on and on.  Tomorrow is supposed to be "dry" (they say), but not sunny, and then wet again on Tuesday.  I just looked up the data, and we've had about twice the normal rain, and no clear days -- they've been about equally partly cloudy and just plain cloudy.

I started a couple of things over the weekend.  I decided I would watch the HBO series Game of Thrones; up till yesterday I had only been reading the books.  I figured that took enough time.   But I enjoyed them so much, and with the series diverging from and getting ahead of the books, I felt like I'd be missing something if I didn't do both.  ( Read more... )
