I'm at school right now and it is about 6:45, and I have no idea how much longer I'll be here. Damn inputting grades! I wish I had known how tedious it would be, other wise I would not have waited until today to put them in my gradebook. I also wish I knew when grades are DUE. I'm computer illiterate - how do I reformat? and where can I back up everything to?

To reformat, you need a new copy of windows, or a backup disk for the copy you have on your computer already. Since most people don't have backup disks, you can download windows (which is illegal, but eh), or you can buy a new copy. Since you're a teacher, you might be able to get a good deal.
To backup files, you can just burn them to a CD or DVD, or use a cable to transfer the files to someone elses computer until you're done reformatting. I'm sure SOMEONE you know can do this for it. Any geek will say it's easy. :)

Good luck with the dedication!
(Also I'm jealous that you're a teacher.)

(Do not be jealous that I'm a teacher - I hate having to deal with grades, parents, and paper work!) :D

I don't know about you, but I enjoyed dealing with grades and parents during my 12-week student teaching stint. :)

and don't worry about your mom. It might be rocky for a little while, but when you're gone, she will miss you and realize why you had to leave and it will be okay. When I moved out my parents (mostly my mom) was super passive aggressive about it and would make comments all the time like " well since we never see you anymore..." etc. But she got over it. Now she actually invites me over and I make an effort to see both my parents, but it's a hard adjustment for sure. I think it's almost harder to move out of your parents' and stay in town as opposed to moving across the country like my sister did :-)
