That was an exciting match! I'm glad at this point in the story that Fuji loses the match to Sanada. Otherwise there wouldn't have been much of a point in transferring to Rikkai if Fuji could already defeat them. It was exciting to see him break out his modified Triple Counters already, and I wonder if I can look forward to a bunch of new techniques that Fuji later develops? Especially if he starts working on the attack part of his game, which I would assume at least Sanada would insist upon.

I also had a kick out of Sanada's post-match critique and the partially filled out transfer papers, haha. It sounded so in line with his character, a straight-shooter indeed! Fuji being Fuji, he accepted that critique pretty quietly.

I'm looking forward to what's coming next! Seigaku's in for a big surprise. And you're right about the Tezuka/emotional issue I mentioned earlier. I'll admit, I like to read Tezuka/Fuji fics, so I probably romanticize that relationship a little more than it actually deserves, haha!

Fuji developing new counters, separate from what we see in canon, is pretty much a guarantee. He's got a lot of counters to begin with, but he's going to be pushed to develop much faster than he was at Seigaku - and Sanada isn't the only player that will challenge him. I haven't figured out how many Fuji will eventually develop, but there's at least one that I've sketched out in detail already. It might make an appearance before he exhausts the ones everyone is already familiar with, but I haven't made up my mind yet ( ... )

I read that part in Shin PoT...Shiraishi rocks in so many ways. Every time I go back to that scene, Fuji's expression just floors me :-)

Wait, PoT is full of innuendo? Are you sure? (oh, I couldn't even hold a straight face while writing that...) My pairings tend not to be traditional, so I'm okay with leaving things to the interpretation of the readers! *grin*

Sanada's post-match critique and Fuji's response were both quite believable! And I liked the little details you put in regarding Yukimura's illness :-)

That revelation in Shin PoT floors me. Really Konomi-sensei? Shiraishi forgot he was wearing a solid gold brace for over two years?! (Although, young!Shiraishi was adorable.) PoT/Shin PoT is so absurd at times it's downright funny.

Maybe when everything is all said and done, I'll ask the readers to point out passages that they think support pairing innuendo. I'd be curious to see what pairings people "find" support for, just like in the actual series.

Thanks for the feedback!
