[Maintaining a relationship with your old flame is double-edged, at best, even without a psychic link between you. I should've known she would realize and want to talk to me face-to-face. Strange she would choose now to call me on not letting her go. Maybe I haven't let go in my heart yet to her satisfaction but I am beginning to open up to new possibilities. I want to move on.]
My ex-wife e-mailed me with a request to come visit me here in Japan. I told her I would have to check on a few things first. I'm not certain I have the room here for one and she insists on staying here for a week or two. I may have to put my foot down and ask her to stay at a hotel instead. I telecommute and would rather not have her intruding on my work hours and distracting me from my projects.
I let news of the visit slip to the boss's daughter that I mentioned before, and she's offered to pose as my girlfriend while Kiku is here. I think she's watched too many romantic comedies. I politely declined but she insisted that I call her should I change my mind and gave me her phone number. I'd rather not involve her in my mess personal life if I can avoid it but I suppose I brought this on myself by making her that promise. Still, I wish this wasn't so horribly awkward. Thankfully, I only see her once a week.
