Ok so Gmail? Not that awesome

For the last two days my Gmail has been acting up. For some reason the SMTP server for outgoing mail seems to not respond when i send stuff and all the info online says ports. I try these to no avail. So does anyone know why Apple Mail wants to be a d-bag?

that's weird, I've only had like one sending problem with g-mail, and that's just cause I closed the browser before it finished sending the large email...-__-;;

But I'm using Thunderbird and Apple mail as clients to get my mail. That's the main issue here.
