It's difficult to enjoy yourself when you've woken up tied into a straitjacket, alone in a padded room, with a locked door and security camera and goodness knows what. [ Philip used to feel sorry for his patient when he went into a state like that. He still does, but there is a very thick layer of weariness covering it up now. The need to follow procedure has been drilled into his head time and time again and the door will not open by his hands before that. ]

It's been such a wonderful journey for Elle so far, but it was a long day, so forgive her when she doesn't stop to chat (or otherwise acknowledge Daniel's existence) as she breaks through the ventilation shaft on one side of the room and rips off a patch of padding on the other side as she works on disappearing again. ]

She's not a cockroach or a weird servant, so his first thought isn't 'hallucination'. Give him a moment. For now he'll draw himself up slightly - he's sitting on the bed, hunched over - and say in a voice not quite lively enough: ]
