[ After some time a response pops up on Daniel's screen.

Unfortunately it will contain neither Philip nor a speaking part.

Instead the feed turns on to a mannequin inspecting the communication device with curiosity.

She taps the screen with one finger and waves, then points to her mouth, shakes her head and shrugs, finishing with an apologetic smile at the so described lack of audio response. ]

[ OH GOD IT'S A BIZARRELY LIFELIKE MANNEQUIN.

Well, okay, he's semi-gotten used to the moving doll thing by necessity, but still: GYAH. (He tells himself that he didn't just hear a skitter. He's over that. Over it.)

This must be Philip's. Why the hell is it so big? That's horrifying.

So he should probably stop staring in shock and actually say something, huh? ]

Is -

[ She shakes her head and looks around. After a moment she beams, having found the right button to make the device's keyboard appear.

Commence communication!

...Of course being the comparatively immobile plastic version of somebody who was not the most computer literate person to begin with means that great feats of typing speed are not to be expected.

At some point she pauses and looks up at the screen, making sure to offer another apologetic smile for the wait. ]
