Which one, when, and where?! I'm assuming Paul Newman & it looks like HUD is playing tomorrow.
I'm definitely organizing an outing to see "Slap Shot" in a couple of weeks -- Lily Braden flask is mandatory! :-)
Also, noticed that they're showing Nagisa Oshima's "In The Realm Of The Senses" between 4/15-4/18. Seems like it'd almost be sillier than never again touching my tooter to miss out on that one on the big screen.
Finally, I wanna catch "Sin Nombre" while it's still there -- looks like that's most of April, though, so no huge rush.
Paul Newman, yeah. I *thought* we were doing the early show but Ian might have meant the late show so we'd have time to get there. Now I can't remember!
Man, I am tired. It took me a second to switch gears and I was like "In the Realm of the Senses"... I never heard of THAT Paul Newman film. LOLOL!
We've, sadly, haven't made as many visits to the AFI recently as we'd like so I'm sure my other half will be up for watching just about anything. It all depends on schedules. I normally work until 9:30 on Saturdays (though I'm changing my schedule as of May 1) so Sat evening shows usually won't work.
Oh yeah...Torn Curtain is playing tomorrow at 9:20. I definitely can't do that one, as I've got to be at Japone by 10:00 or thereabouts.
In The Realm Of The Senses is pretty freaky-deaky...up there on my list of screwy flicks, and all the more so when you realize it's supposed to be set in the 1930's. Some of the more sinister bits of Audition were almost certainly informed in part by this film, but the obsession element in this one is creepier than any of the outright wickedness of the other.
Hrmmm...Slap Shot is really the only one that's mandatory for me. I've watched it countless times but never on the big screen. I'm hoping I can get some of my ice hockey teammates to come out to one of the showings...it's playing five times between 4/24-4/30, so we should be able to get something put together between now and then.
Definitely let me know about tomorrow...if it's the early show, I can probably tag along.
Cool! I'll come and visit you in whatever brig they slam your ass in for dropping your pants on the airplane. I'd bail you out, but I'm saving my $$$ for a trip to Montreal...haw haw haw, St. Laurent!

And by there, I mean in a plane above the city 3 hours earlier pressing my ass against the window right at you.
