ROUND FOURTEEN THEME LIST

The Foundation of All Things...

What's Trending Now...

  • Zombies... Fight the dead. Fear the living.
  • People-Eating Giants... On that day, mankind received a grim reminder.
  • Swimming... See you next water time...

For this set, it is not required that you interpret the bolded themes in the context of the implied fandoms. The taglines are more for your amusement. Wisdom from All Sources...

  • I wonder if I've been changed in the night. Let me think. Was I the same when I got up this morning? I almost think I can remember feeling a little different. But if I'm not the same, the next question is 'Who in the world am I?' Ah, that's the great puzzle!

The theme challenge is completely voluntary, intended for fun and stimulation.

For inclusion in the theme challenge, your submission must list each theme you used. Both the author that earns the most points for a single fic and the one who earns the most points overall win be eligible for a prize. However, the winner of the theme challenge will not necessarily be the person who uses the most themes, so please don't feel obliged to cram in as many themes as you can. Rather, we hope that you will take a theme or group of themes that you find interesting and use them to write a great story.

We will be judging your theme usage on the following criteria:

1. Frequency: how often is the theme explicitly (or implicitly) referenced in the story
2. Accuracy: how accurately has the theme been used
3. Purpose: how integral is the theme to the story
4. Execution: how smoothly the theme has been incorporated into the story
5. Creativity: how creatively the theme has been interpreted

For each theme you include in your submission, we will assign a point value from 1 to 5 for each of the above criteria. All the points for all the themes will be added up, and the writer with the highest number of points will be awarded a prize for their efforts. Since we realize that all of these criteria are highly subjective, all of the mods will do our evaluations independently and take the average to determine the point totals.

Remember, sign ups are on LJ and on DW, and we're looking forward to you signing up! Alternatively, we're super psyched you did sign up!! FIGHT-OH!
