Screencaps: misc. Jrock PVs
This time I'm posting screencaps of some of the PVs I have already iconed (the Libra icons will appear here in a few days). Originally, I was supposed to post JEWELS caps too, but now I can't find the disc anywhere -it seems like my computer desk has eaten it or something. So, MUCC is here to replace Alice Nine. ^__^
After posting these there'll be two or three screencaps posts in this journal in the near future; then my current "stock" of screencaps is used and you have to wait for new caps :) Check out my Screencaps Directory to see what I have capped and what will be capped, sooner or later -if you want, you can tell which ones you'd like to see capped "sooner" (*lol*), but I'm not making any promises^_-

.Uwah, this PV is why I love Gazette so much! ^_^ The vid is brutally beautiful, and it gives nicely space for all of the guys (sometimes the vocalist is the only one to appear in the "plot" part of the pv while the rest of the band members are just playing in separate scenes). Here everything blends perfectly together: Kai's heart-clawing drumming, Ruki's pained vocals, Uruha's sensitive guitar solos, Aoi's dramatic way of playing, Reita's nonchalant rhytmic back-up for Kai.. Every scene is just so perfect it almost hurts. The guys are totally absorbed by the song and the story. My favourite seconds would be the ones when Uruha lifts his guitar into air and his hair cover his eyes (the whole pose is very poetic to my eyes). Aoi's performance is also very enjoyable to watch -his dark eyes really bristle with the defeated rage the song radiates~<3

.Miyavi's just too pretty for his own good~<3 This PV isn't just for commercial use -it's a piece of art. The heavy symbolism makes me want to cry -I wouldn't have ever come up with anything that brilliant^^

.this PV makes me, for some reason, happy :) To come to really think of it, the PV has nothing strikingly new -the whole black versus white image scheme has been seen before, many times (f.ex. deadman's Follow the Night Light has a similar touch). However, the smoky overall style and Tatsurou's insanely intense performance make this PV something Greater Than Life. Especially this part makes me hold my breath:
"ikiru koro sore wa
nani mo mienai yami no naka o samayou you na
shinu koto sore mo mata yami
owari wa keshite hajimari dewa nai
dakara koso ima yami o terasu
saikou ni naru you inochi moyasu
kagayaki o hanatsunda

('the thing about living, that is
like wondering in the in darkness, not able to see a thing
the thing about dying, that, is also darkness
"the end" is no way "the beginning"
that's why (we need to) light up the darkness now
burn up our life/soul as much as we could
(after) releasing the radiance
the proof of life could not wear out, would become strong')
First of all, the lyrics are really arresting. Somehow MUCC has always managed to write songs which have this very halting affect on me. You know, when I watched Libra for the first time I thought the black character is a some kind of devil trying to keep this white-wearing man down, but after reading the lyrics I realised he's just trying to help him to understand, get up and start living. That part above, when the tophat-wearing Tatsurou goes really wild and almost scary and starts yelling at this defeated poor thing.. the editing is amazing. I can't get my eyes off of the screen. I just watch his every posessed move, his smouldering eyes.. It's almost like I'm the one who should do something dramatic and jump up^^
