I sit in disbelief...

Did anyone read the Sunday Voice today? On the first page of the Lifestyle section was a story written by Denise Allabaugh that outraged me, and I couldn't help but share. The article is about a thirteen year old boy named Zachary. Zachary has cerebral palsy. The article would be upsetting if his cerebral palsy were the only issue, but the ( Read more... )

i don't get stuff like that either. i think a lot is to do with upbringing. granted, some kids were born out of their parent's control, but even then, they should recognise this and seek professional help. i don't agree with a lot of people that this is "kis being kids," it is NOT a normal part of developement to treat other humans like this and they should not be let to think so.

The article does mention that "While many people believe bullies have low self-esteem, Lombardo pointed out research shows that bullies actually possess strong self-esteem, but they may be hit at home." Upbringing can only excuse so much. I know people who have gone through extremely violent childhood, and were still able to function like everyone else. And "kids being kids" seems a little ridiculous. How far can you excuse kids for things using that? Oh well, little Johnny broke Timmy's arm, but they were just kidding. Come one, kids will be kids. Bah

I don't get the Sunday Voice, so thanks for posting this. That's absolutely nuts. Some kids are so cruel and I don't know how they can possibly act like this without feeling any kind of guilt... and quite frankly, I hope their behavior comes back and bites them in the ass cause they deserve it.

That sad part is I'm afraid that it won't. I'm afraid these kids will get away with it all through their schooling.

There always have been and always will be kids and people who are just plain heinous. Sad, but a reality. =( And people just cannot understand why things like Columbine happen. Not that i condone going to such dire straits to try to solve your problems, i can understand why the kids might have been driven towards such actions.

The article mentioned Columbine. I remember feeling so bad for those two boys. It's hard to imagine how badly people have to be treated before they go to such extremes.

I think the failure of the Columbine students was they couldn't see the light at the end of the tunnel. Taunting lasts forever, it never stops, you just have to learn how to deal with it.

I don't feel bad for those boys.

Well then, I feel bad for you.

What you're saying is exactly what the rest of us are pointing out as wrong. TAUNTING OTHERS TO FEEL BETTER ABOUT YOURSELF SHOULD NOT BE A NORMAL PART OF DEVELOPMENT. Kids ARE kids. But that doesn't give them an excuse to be horrible to each other. Nothing gives another person a right to do this to another human being.

Youre so laid back about the this. These things shouldnt be happening, and all you can say is, "should not but is"? You're a fucking moron.

Murder should not happen.
Rape should not happen.
Incest should not happen.
Child and Spousal abuse should not happen.
Racial discrimination should not happen.
Bullying should not happen.
oh and get this one...
Sexual descrimination should not happen.

Oh well... but it does. But wait... it doesn't matter what you think. Because you're just a stupid fucking woman. And this subject isnt about cooking or cleaning, or making babies, so you don't know what your talking about. Women should keep their legs open and their mouths shut. Now shut you're mouth and go make me a sandwhich.

Whats the point of the human race if we don't set a goal to strive for?

Communism

Excuse you, you best be joking.

I'm laid back about it because I no longer get angry with the injustice of the world. Eventually everyone grows to realize that bad things happen all the time, and just because some philosophical utopian says they shouldn't happen, doesn't mean they won't.

If you want to argue about this, at least do it in a respectable manner. Or at least make valid points.
