The Wilderness is so great lately! It's such an amazing city. I haven't found a really good science store yet, but that's okay. The ChocoCro place is worth itThat reminds me. There are a lot of good snacks down there, and so many vending machines, but I don't think I'll have time to try everything by myself. Could people share their favorites, and ( Read more... )

[after seeing Rosalind's note to him while nosing through his journal, River goes to meet her at the bazaar, flying over the islands instead of crossing the bridges (many of which are too small for him anyway). He waits outside near the entrance, coiled up on the ground patiently]

River! [She spots him right away, which isn't hard with a big white dragon, and beams at him immediately, running over to hug him.]

I'm so glad you're here! Are you having a good day? Did you have a nice morning swim?

[he's totally used to Rosalind's hugs now, and returns it by nosing at her hair, and then nodding in answer to her questions. His whiskers curl forward at the scent of food in her shopping bag, and he hopes she got something fresh and unpackaged for herself. He doesn't like the look of these things that come out of vending machines]

[Rosalind giggles at the affectionate touch--it's almost ticklish--and gives him one more squeeze before digging into the bag of freshly-wrapped goods she's got.]

I hope you like them; I know you're not a fan of most of the snacks I buy, even if they are really tasty. Here: onigiri, and mochi, and some dango, all from the specialized foods stand.

I like the little snacks that are shaped like mushrooms. The stems are cookies and the caps are chocolate. They had them in a vending machine in Shiba Park and in a couple of convenience stores.

Mushrooms shaped like chocolate? That sounds wonderful! I wish real mushrooms could be chocolate.

Your friends are eating lake fish? I know you're kinda scary in the kitchen, Roz, but this is getting kind of ridiculous.

He's a dragon and he's my brother and he can eat whatever he wants! You can talk when you don't leave us wondering what you're doing for weeks. Where have you been?

Your b [[This is quickly struck out. Goddammit, how the hell is he supposed to be a douchebag at that? ...Okay, this is the second indication he's really not good at being an asshole on purpose. Maybe he'll try again later.]

A dragon, huh? I'd make a crack about family resemblance, but then you'd probably put chemicals in my drink or something, so I'll refrain.

And I was just getting some space; I needed to clear my head, that's all--don't take it personally. I've got crash space in Section One from my Adventuring job, so it's not like I was just out being a hobo.

[Inkscrawl, because that's mean. She's linefacing at the journal, Lea. There might also be a lip quiver.]

Well, you should let us know! I kept making extra dinner and now there's loads of extras. And I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to just take up an extra apartment unless you're going to live there all the time. So you should just come home.

We should go together! I haven't been able to explore very much, but I might have found a few choice locations.

Oh, let's do that! I'd take River with us, but he doesn't even like my snacks when he's a boy and not a dragon.

You're sure we couldn't find something he'd like? There are more foods in that city than I'd know what to do with!

And it's all very familiar, too.

He likes very fresh food. Nothing processed. But processed food is a part of science-it's how they put the goodness in! [Rationalizing, what is that.] I'll get some things for him if I see them, but I'm going shopping in the Bazaar later, too.

I found a section with a lot of technology things! I do not know where they come into science, but if I see you I can mark it on your map for you!

Really? Thank you, Mr. Youth! That sounds like lots of fun. Have you been visiting a lot?

You are welcome!

I have. Some sections seem almost a little familiar but I cannot put my finger on why, so I keep going back and looking. A lot of it is not familiar at all.

Maybe it's a city from where you come from and you've visited it before, or read about it!
