Jon, I love you too, and I knew that you'd be the only one who agreed with me.
I really don't care what other people think. I have my own opinions on this and they have theirs too and I'm going to respect their opinions and hope they expect mine.
I swear I love you Sarah! :)kaybananaFebruary 19 2004, 00:04:42 UTC
sorry just have to say:
50% of marriages end in divorce and a much higher percentage are fraught with adultery, abuse, etc.. Britney Spears was married for 55 hours as a publicity stunt or because she was drunk, whatever. J Lo has had more husbands than tubes of mascara. I'm SO sure that allowing some people who truly love each other to share in matrimony -- and and enjoy all of the benefits that go with it (hospital visits, inheiritance, adoption, insurance, tax benefits) is REALLY going to degrade the "pristine" institution of marriage.

YESSSSS GO KATIE!!!! that whole sacred thing is bs if any freakin whore can get married to any person they want to.
any relationship, whether between a man and a woman, a man and a man, or a woman and a woman, can be "SACRED". it totally depends on the people involved. end of story :)
and... look how many young couples get married when they are too fuckin young because they "love" eachother.
I think its crap. They get married because they fall in love for the FIRST time, are having sexual feelings, but are told it isn't right unless they are married because sex and all is sooooo sacred, so they ruin their entire lives by getting married because they want to give this special thing to this person.
They then become miserable and stuck because they are ALSO told that divorce is wrong.
God forbid people make mistakes! A lot of the reason they make the mistakes is because they make the wrong initial decision to get married.
I'm not saying that I think you should just lose your virginity to anyone, but its ok to give that gift to someone you love, especially if they are giving you the same gift. THAT is sacred. I STILL love and respect the person I lost mine to and I haven't been with him in over a year. I'm happily seeing someone else now that I love very much... God doesn't look down on me for that.
