Sometimes it's easier to talk to a stranger because they have that outsiders view on things. Friends' opinions can be quite biased in your favour because well, they are your friend and sometimes families aren't even remotely helpful. So I can see the appeal in talking to strangers about your problems.
That makes sense. I've just never wanted to open up to a total stranger before. Never tried that, really. Small talk's ok. Now if they're the type to just come up and say,"Hey, ya look like something's wrong. Wanna talk about it?," then I might be more inclined to do so. I've never been big on going where I'm not invited.
I think it's difficult to talk to family members because they can't give an unbiased opinion. I think it's much easier to talk to Internet friends. They're distant enough that they can be objective, but at the same time I know them well enough that I don't feel weird about telling a complete stranger my life history!
Yeah, I hear ya. I think I write more about my personal thoughts and feelings in this thing. I feel more comfortable doing so because you're right, families can be biased.
