To respond to the comment you left me about ethics being pick and choose...

I don't mind stealing from companies that take advantage of the poor and needy and reap pure profit from it, no. I'd also steal from The Gap, but I would never steal from businesses whose practices I respect. I consider it a public service.

See, I just don't understand that at all. I don't like the GAP either and I *hate* Abercrombie & Fitch, but I wouldn't steal from either company. Because when you steal from a retailer, the people that are most hurt by that are the lower level employees. Maybe not directly, but they might lose bonuses or raises or something. And they are certainly not the people that make the decisions you disagree with.

I guess I'm just completely baffled as to why you won't wear leather because it hurts cows but you don't have any problem hurting people.

Do you really think that the minimum wage employees at Value Village even have the chance of getting a bonus? That company buys donated clothing in bulk, jacks up the price 600% or so, and then gives nothing back to the community. Their employees are treated like trash and so are the people they're taking advantage of.

I suppose that at The Gap they might give their employees bonuses, but I don't steal from there. I just have no problem with the idea. Honestly, it does hurt the managers, because their store shrinkage level goes up which is no good, and they lose out on bonuses -- usually it's the management levels that get the bonuses, from my retail experience -- but come ON. Simply by spending their lives climbing the corporate ladders in these companies they're supporting child labour and unfair trade!

Whatever. I have my view on it and you have yours. It's a completely different situation than leather. No entry-level employees are being killed or physically harmed by my stealing from the shitty corporation that pays them

And whether they get a bonus or not, they still get in trouble. People steal from my store all the time and I get yelled at because I have too many other things to do and am not able to stop it. Yes, I am perpetuating corporate whoredom, but I need money to survive and have few better options at this point in my life.

And you do have a point. No dies when you steal. But it is against the law. There's a reason for that. Killing cows for clothes is not.

But since you seem to believe that laws don't matter if they're only protecting bad people, I obviously can't stop you. Hope ya don't get caught.
