I was going to post an update/review of Deathly Hallows pt. 2 as soon as I got home, but I literally could not keep my eyes open. So have it now.

On the whole, it felt very ... rushed. Kind of the opposite of part one which honestly got boring at times. It starts at Shell Cottage, but they are literally there for about three minutes, then BAM they're in Gringotts, then BAM they're in Hogsmeade, then BAM they're at Hogwarts.

I thought King's Cross was WAY TOO SHORT, as was the encounter with Aberforth. They basically completely ignored the story of Ariana except for Aberforth saying that "she was our sister and she was very sick." Dumbledore never mentioned her, never begged Harry's forgiveness, never explained the Deathly Hallows and Grindelwald and why he was so obsessed with them, and overall had an air of "Goddamn it, Harry, you'll figure it out, BYE". Although I do love that they kept the "Of course it is happening in your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?" line. FAVORITE LINE OF ANYTHING EVER.

The whole student show-off vs. Snape ... Harry appearing in the Great Hall? What the FUCK. And one second he's in his school robes and then BAM he's back in the jacket that looks like he just got out of a swamp. It was just ... strange. But I love that they kept Pansy Parkinson wanting to turn Harry in, and everyone raising their wands at her, and then Filch comes stumping in screaming, "STUDENTS OUT OF BED!" and McGonagall is just like YOU ARE A STUPID DUMBASS. That part was quality, AS WAS the part at the end where everyone is celebrating and Filch is trying to sweep up the debris. AHAHAH.

McGonagall and Ron were AMAZING at comic relief, omg. When McGonagall said "Hogwarts is threatened, do your duty to our school!" and then giggles and says "I've always wanted to use that spell!" omg brilliant. And Ron just had perfect timing the entire movie. From the "six months she hasn't seen me and it's like I'm Frankie First-year," (or ... whatever he says when Ginny says hi to Harry in the Room of Requirement) to "Harry talks in his sleep," for his explanation of being able to fake Parseltongue. Just awesome.

Neville Longbottom. What can I honestly say about him? He is such a BAMF that he pretty much redefined the word BAMF. From taunting the Death Eaters to defying Voldemort to rallying everyone after Harry's "death" to killing the snake ... omg, he was just completely amazing and I LOVE HIM. And I also love that HE ENDS UP WITH LUNA. YAY. (Even though Luna should have been with Harry, her being with Neville is the next best thing.)

Speaking of the snake, when Harry, Ron, and Hermione were chasing it I was screaming in my head "DON'T YOU DARE THAT IS NEVILLE'S BIG MOMENT GTFO."

Oh and the whole "I'm going to the Forest to die, PEACE OUT" was ... strange. In the book Harry decided not to say goodbye to anyone and I liked that better. It seemed much more in character than basically telling Ron and Hermione that he himself was a Horcrux and needs to die. idk. Little things like that piss me off, lol.

Speaking of Ron and Hermione ... the kiss. I thought it was mehhhhh, but it was Ron/Hr so I clapped and cheered along with everyone else anyway, and the looks/giggles they gave each other afterward were perfect. Would have been better had it been in, you know, NOT the Chamber of Secrets, but...

Snape was just ... perfect. His death was absolutely beautiful and Alan Rickman is an amazing actor. And the "You have your mother's eyes" line KILLED ME. So, so good.

The Prince's Tale was, like everything else, rushed and too short. They didn't show Snape calling Lily a Mudblood which is kind of THE REASON THEY STOPPED TALKING? And I have to admit that Snape holding Lily's dead body was ... creepy, to say the least. But again Alan Rickman was basically flawless. His expressions and the way he delivered the lines... perfect.

And the whole Harry coming back to life! thing was ... weird. He didn't use the Invisibility Cloak so it was basically like HEY I'M ALIVE, SUP instead of taking out as many Death Eaters as possible before going for Voldemort. And I still don't understand why they had to jump off a bridge, or whatever that was. But on the whole, I thought the Battle of Hogwarts was really well done. really.

"Not my daughter, you bitch!" got SUCH a loud cheer, and then an even louder cheer when Molly killed Bellatrix. That was amazing, although I still don't know why Bellatrix just EXPLODED instead of falling over, but okay. And on the topic of deaths, I'm bitter that Fred/Remus/Tonks' deaths were skated over. Especially Fred's.

The Forest Again, though, was absolutely PERFECT, right down to the "Stay close to me," Harry directed at his mother. I didn't cry throughout the movie like I expected, but I definitely teared up at that. A+ for you, Daniel Radcliffe.

I loved the Malfoys being like PEACE OUT and just running the fuck away. They are were so over this two years ago. I'm fairly sure they now just all need a lifetime of therapy and hugs and cookies. Especially Draco. OH AND SPEAKING OF. Voldemort hugging Draco. LOLOLOLOL. And when Neville steps forward to challenge Voldemort, but he thinks he's joining him: "Well, I had hoped for better..." stfu, asshole, there is NO ONE better than Neville badass Longbottom. NO ONE.

And the Epilogue. LOL. Harry looks AWFUL. But the scene with him and Albus Severus (... still the WORST NAME EVER) was so sweet. And the way it ended by zooming out on him ... so good.

Oh, and MY BIGGEST COMPLAINT. Harry never mended his wand with the Elder Wand?! WTF. He just SNAPS it in half and tosses it off a bridge and is NOW LEFT WANDLESS unless he intends to keep Malfoy's? IDK but that was HORRIBLE. Although I did love Harry's "It's mine," line. Wonderful. OH and I'm also bitter that he didn't go see Dumbledore after the Battle, but you know...

So yeah, I had a lot of complaints (like I do for all the movies, ahah) and it wasn't as perfect as I had hoped, but overall it's a very good movie. I wouldn't say great, but definitely very good, and a reasonable way to go out. The midnight premiere was also so much fun, and I'm sad that it was the only one I'll ever be a part of. Oh well, at least I have the one. :o)

I'll do an update on the rest of my life later; I'm leaving this public just .. because, so I don't want to say much else. But I will say one thing, and that is to quote JK Rowling:

"Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home."
