Henry had just woken up not long ago, too. Had showered and gotten dressed and ready to start the evening's work. Staying in tonight; after he'd made sure Tony had gotten home safe he had gone out hunting. Which had proved...

... productive. In more than one sense.

He didn't check the caller ID before he answered, a habit he'd still not always gotten into. So it was a pleasant surprise when he heard Vicki's voice on the other end. "Hello..."

"Hey there. Am I interrupting something? Plans?" Easy voice, easy posture, leaning back, chair on just two legs, propping her ankles up on her desk. Which he could probably hear.

Not exactly fed, not yet tonight - she only took a very little bit from Mike, anymore - but not in a particular need, either.

"No... No plans." Soft smile, there. He could hear, and he could picture, and it was a beautiful picture. Not conventionally beautiful, perhaps, but it was Vicki, and that made it beautiful to him.

"Just staying in and getting some work done. I had someone over for dinner last night."

No, he couldn't resist.

... okay, so she liked the sound of the smile. Or maybe not the smile, but the way it laced his voice with--

Anyway, she smiled, too. Then chuckled. "You're possibly the only person I know who could pull that statement off straight-faced, not making it sound cheesy, and not making it sound unnecessarily sinister. ... okay, not too cheesy, at any rate." No, that wasn't devalued by the fact that he was the only vampire, other than herself, that she knew. Well, the only living one. It applied to anybody of her acquaintance who might be speaking in his place.

Actually, she rather preferred himself speaking from his place.

"Tasty bite?"
