Seriously, I know what ya mean about the paranoia thing--used to be the scariest thing for me to go into a drugstore and buy a bag of Attends. Nowadays, I could care less who sees me. It helps to remember that they wouldn't make 'em if there wasn't an actual need for them. I mean, really--do ppl get weirded-out about buying toilet-paper??!
As for dealing with sales/customer-service ppl: it does get easier with time; these ppl are trained to help, they aren't secretly making fun of you or thinking you're some deviant.
I like what you said about thinking of cd's or books--it really is the same thing. Different product, same service. It's that simple.
