They didn't want me yet. =;) Not enough career experience/background in international relations, I'm guessing. I'm going to keep trying, though... I'm shooting to take the test a second time in June, but I'm also exploring other positions with the State Department or the federal government as stepping stones
In the meantime, I'm working for a business school admissions consulting firm in Philly, editing business school essays and writing guides to various business schools. Which is loosely sort of related to what I was doing before!
Sounds like it could be fun... or boring! Good luck on the test! Maybe considering a move to DC would be in your future. If you found a cheap place to live, I'm sure there are low-paying jobs (if not yet, then soon) for all sorts of international companies. Or possible consider the Peace Corps as a first step?
