i've been hearing this story in heavy circulation lately thanks to podcasts, and i think the one thing people tend to overlook is that it's a sin to the muslems to depict mohammed in image form. that's why there are no icons. it's just a cartoon to us, but it's not just a cartoon to them.

but when you take this story on the coattails of the recent hamas election in palestine or the us actions to bar uranium research in iran?, i can appreciate why muslems are pissed: it really looks like the west is just out to get the near-east and for what? really?

well, the conflict is downright inevitable really, because you have two philosophies that are more or less in direct conflict with each other. I mean, the west says that nothing is sacrosanct, and the east says there is. Where is the line drawn? If there has been a line drawn before, it's not consistent, because images of mohammed have been produced for centuries, yet it's not like there have been mass riotings to tear down every last painting depicting mohammed from museums around the world ( ... )

I heard of it, been meaning to check it out, but I just haven't had any free time lately. :/ It just seems like the work from school never ends lol. How about you, have you been throwing down the gauntlet sc3 style yet? :)

you know, right after i posted this comment, i mentioned to a friend amazement, and he loaned me his copy, memory card and guidebook. it is totally beyond awesome. there are some new and classic characters, a strategy game you create a character for, plus the missions and the character storylines. and you can create your own characters, and unlock more features to add to the characters as you play. totally badass. and the movies they play to introduce some fights are interactive in the final fantasy kind of way.

so yeah, check it out.
