Big moment in history - Eric has finally been replaced after 3 faithful years at my side (and in my bag/pocket)! The new phone is gorgeous, another Ericsson, white with turquoise detailing (which almost perfectly matches my new scarf, haha). I think I'm going to call it Erica though, as it is much too feminine to be Eric II ( Read more... )

It's only the third week of uni.
I'm in my third year of uni and I've only just started feeling pretty comfortable. I think you probably hear about the positives from your friends because there are some really good times, but they're less willing to disclose to you that everybody has a really hard time starting out. I'm an RA this year at college, and, trust me, everybody finds it tough. And that's to be expected - new environment, new people, new challenges - it's like starting all over again after leaving an extremely close-knit group and a well-known and comforting social network.
The friends you make in college will be friends for life, but they're made out of necessity and often are extremely arkward to get off the ground. Don't feel like you're missing out by living where you are. I know Simon made some amazing friends there - hell, even I met Flo from UTS housing, and he is awesome ( ... )

Steal other peoples friends. If you get along with Jess, chances are you'll get along with her friends too, ask her what she's up to & ask if you can tag along (remember 3's a crowd on romantic dinners :P), hang out with Robbie & whatever new & old friends he has (Robbie's awesome & has lots of awesome friends...like us!).

But seriously, give it some time love, we didn't all become friends in 3 weeks! we randomly mishmashed together over like 5 years, in that time heaps of people came and went from our group. I know that if you give it some time, this will all fall perfectly into place, you're fun & funny & make people feel good about themselves. It's practically impossible to not love you, so chill out sweetheart.

Friends are over rated.

Take up knitting.

Then you will have such amazing knitted goods that everyone will be dying to be your friend!

Yeah. I've got nothing.

I've been living in this town for nearly 4-5 months now and don't have a single friend.

But..I love you! xoxo
