No Frills opens at nine.  I had a coffee in hand and there was a line outside.  I asked a small group of old men for the time, and the one with the growliest accent said "two minutes".  I stood back from the group, smiled at them and sipped my coffee ( Read more... )

I worked at a grocery store in high school and often started at 9:00 am on Saturdays. I would arrive at 8:50, but there was always a core group of old men and women who were there before then. They didn't much like the fact that I was allowed in at 8:50 while they had to wait until 9:00. Too funny.

Does No Frills have a cafe / cafeteria, like my alma mater grocery store, or were they just there to shop?

You did much better with the smile tutorial than I would have, btw. That sort of thing gives me seething rage. (Why should I smile for you? Do you think I'm for your amusement? Answer: yes, obviously.) That said, I know the smile you smile when you've got a head full of disruptive humour, and it is indeed a great one.
