why do people call it x-mas? theres no x in christ. I'm not religious at all but im just wondering... DUBYA TEE EFF MATE?

Because you see, it's the closest they could get to looking like a cross, and a cross represents christ. No I'm totally kidding...I have no idea. Hmm.

i think it's cause when people say christmas they leave out the T sound and then say it like chrismas and chris kinda sounds like cross which is like an x.
and i cant really explain that too well but in my mind i know what i'm talking about sorry.

ohkay listen i really do know. whoever the first poster was.. was pretty close. but kay listen..
in the ancient days they believed that christ got crusified on a cross that looked like this 'X' instead of like '+' or 'T'.. w/e looks better. so for abrev. they put X-mas instead of righting out Christ. Just b/c abrev. is rad.

i promise thats the truth.
like it matters anyways.
