Joshua had been feeling restless lately.  He wasn't sure what started it.  It wasn't anything Juliet or the children had done.  It wasn't his job which he still found fulfilling.  Perhaps it was the fact that he'd taken a much less active role with the Column in order to protect his family.  Maybe he missed the adrenaline rush from living so close

Juliet has been trying to get through her day without acknowledging that she feels terrible. She knows she's had a fever all day but it seemed like something she could deal with. By the time she's done feeding Jonah though, she's completely exhausted and her color is less porcelain and more gray. Her eyes lack the intense blue they usually carry, but she finishes the dishes in the kitchen before making her way outside.

"Joshua?" She's not joining him, she just has to tell him what's happening. "I need to go to bed." And she's shaking a little, wrapping her arms around herself.

His eyes linger one last time on the distant sun, sparkling in the sky, before he looks away and turns in Juliet's direction. "Are you okay?" he asks, noticing that she doesn't look just tired anymore.

He crosses the distance between them and puts a warm hand to her forehead.

Juliet closes her eyes and sways a little, reaching out to hold onto his arm.

"I just need to lay down, I'll be okay."

"You sure?" he asks, not convinced that simply laying down will solve it. But he doesn't want to be pushy or overly protective and he's well aware that he can be that way quite easily.
