Continued from the Scrapyard Bomb PostJoshua isn't sure how he gets her back to the compound clinic. Maybe it hadn't been as far as he'd thought. Adrenaline may have a lot to do with it. And perhaps all of the daily walking about Tabula Rasa had put him in even better shape than he had been with all the walking on the Mother Ship. Whatever it ( Read more... )

After her makeshift bandages had been removed, Carolyn eased herself back so she laying down. Her whole body was aching, though nothing hurt as bad as her side did. Her eyes closed, and she mentally tried to distract herself from what she knew Joshua was going to have to do. Clean her wounds.

"OW! That HURTS!" she cried, her eyes snapping as Joshua indeed began to clean out the wound on her side.

"I'm sorry," he replies, not looking away from what he's doing. If it were someone else, he might have been different. Maybe warned them up front it was going to hurt and asked them nicely not to move. Even though he knew Carolyn was not Dr. Pearlman, he still considered her a colleague. As such, he knew that she had an idea of what was going to happen next. Which is why he just went about getting it done.

At the moment, he's cleaning the area and opening the wound to make sure there isn't anything lodged inside. "You've got a piece of metal in there that's going to have to come out," he replies after a moment.

He's already thought ahead and brought the necessary equipment.

"OK," Carolyn nodded, her voice sounding more steady than she actually felt. But she knew that Joshua would do his best to hurry, and even though she might possibly end up wanting to kick him because of the pain, she knew it wasn't his fault. And she wasn't about to ask for any drugs - there were possibly other people who would need it more than she did.

She draped her arm across her eyes, and let out a breath. "Alright, do it. Just get it out."

With all of the oozing, it wasn't hard to retrieve the piece of metal. With a clink, it landed on the equipment tray.

"Are you ready for stitches?" he asks after cleaning the wound. Her wound is mostly just a long gash which went just deep enough to cause blood loss, but nothing too bad now that she's not miles away from medical treatment. The rest of her injuries will be bruises of varying degrees and smaller cuts and abrasions.
