[Juliet - Dated Monday August 30]

He had kissed Carolyn. And it was true that he hadn't thought about Juliet when he'd done. To be fair, though, he hadn't been thinking at all at the time. It had been an impulse. Of course, the conversation afterward hadn't been an impulse, but there hadn't been any real commitments made except to see how things might go ( Read more... )

Juliet hadn't been anywhere near the scrapyard when the bomb had gone off. But she'd heard, quickly. "People who didn't come because they thought things weren't so bad, people who didn't have anyone to help them initially," she explains.

She swallows heavily, and decides that even though she hasn't seen him and it may not matter, she wants to tell him about the memory.

"I saw something today, and I don't know what it means. Do you have a few minutes to talk?"

He was going to tell her that Carolyn was at the blast site and had to be stitched up, but it sounds like she needs to vent about something else so he waits for a better time.

"Sure. What happened?" he asks quietly.
