Stalking the yuletide letter post before bed, as you do, and reading your letter, and I just want to say shut up and take all my fics because all of these prompts (well, ok, I don't know what Hackers is) are glorious and I just want to write all of them and I'm just ridiculously excited about New Years I can't even.
Ha, YES. :D I am so pumped about Yuletide! And does that mean you're a fan of My Boys? Because DOUBLE YES TO THAT.
Also, since I feel I have to tell you this now: Hackers was a cheesy but also very awesome 90s movie about high school kids who are, drum roll please, hackers. It starred a very young Jonny Lee Miller (it was his first big role) and a very young Angelina Jolie (ditto, amazingly enough), who had absolutely ridiculous chemistry - so much so that they got married after doing this movie. High school me thought Hackers was amazing. I love it still for its hacking spirit and unabashed love of geeky hand wave-y technical wizardry and subculture. Heh. AND NOW YOU KNOW.
I used to watch it back in the day on TBS! I'm from Chicago, so I loved all the details it got right (and all the ones it got wrong). But don't hate me; I totally shipped (before I knew what shipping was) Bobby/PJ. Also, I had some intense love for Stephanie. She's basically the best thing ever.
Yes! I've never lived in Chicago itself, but I lived all around in the Great Lakes region so while I could never tell what they got specifically wrong or right for a Chicago native I adore the very midwestern feel to the show in general. <3 And Bobby/PJ - while they're not for me, I certainly don't hate them! I just loooooove PJ/Brendan, you know?
Stephanie's random hate/attraction for Kenny was the BEST.
