So here is my post for review on 2010 and what to look forward to for 2011!
I totally didn't feel like i was this busy, but it looks like in the long run I did accomplish alot this year. I mean, it's nothing brag worthy or anything; but I do make costumes for both myself and Mandy and then here and there, I do a couple commissions and gift costumes.
Started the year off with Sakuracon as always. My group and I performed our Skit "How 2BA Pokemon Master" which not only had our largest cast yet, It won us our second consecutive best in show award! Putting the skit together was so much fun because at the time, I lived near so many close friends that the house was literally full every night, working on Charizard and the battle screen and badges!It was great. I also got to cosplay every 10 year olds dream! Ash Ketchum! It was retardedly fun running around in our Pokemon costumes! We looked like a huge box of crayons.
It was a great con and getting to spend time with Randi and Michele (as always) is awesome. Definitely gonna miss them next year!
Click to viewFanime was next in line and as always, is my favorite con of the whole year. Its so nice outside and since its 4days long, its always so relaxed because you don't always have that "looming" feeling that time is going to "run out". However this year, things were cut a little bit short since Krystal and Rynn were going to be entering the WCS prelims and so we didn't see as much of them as usual. It was kind of a bummer not being a part of the performance, not because I wanted to enter WCS, but because what they were doing was so neat, and yet I had nothing to contribute. Fanime was also the first time I made a costume that I absolutely hated how I looked in, so much that I cried and then changed out immediately! Embarrassing and over-all uncool. (Btw this was Lloyd)
Fanime was also the start of my 'comfortable costume trend' as I wore Cooking Mama. I then spun out and began searching for more costumes that are similar and easier to wear! booo kayla! Boooo!
We went to Kumoricon again and Sean got to go with us once more! I love when he goes because we just wind up having a more relaxed time, even though we did a skit. The skit was an idea that we quite literally pulled from the garbage and performed. Mandy and I were convinced it wouldn't win anything. We really only entered it because I wanted to enter Sora and Riku's costumes since I was so proud of the shoes I made To our surprise we wound up winning Best Master Skit and Best Master Costumes!
Normally this would be the end of our con-season but Aki-con was coming to town! One late night Krystal and I stayed up late talking and that 750.00 prize was just calling to us. We figured, "what have we got to lose?" So in 2 weeks, I made Krystal a Silent Hill Nurse Mask, Tights, A huge background with break away tracing paper windows, audio, and Krystal and I choreographed a dance. It was a HUGE pain in the ass for us. It was so completely different than anything we have ever done before and on top of that, our vision and breathing was very minimal. We really aren't happy with how the skit ended up at all, but somehow won the 750.00 cosplay show down prize. This money was sadly used to pay bills. :( For Mandy and I anyways... I also had made Kiki ahile back before Sakuracon but never wore her since she wasn't used for the skit as we had started planning prior to How 2BA Master. So I decided to wear her now! I had just gotten my hair cut and so Mandy, Krystal and I went as a Miyazaki group! (Mandy borrowed Lizzie's Howl)
So as 2010 comes to an end, I have already started a million things!
1.Princess Tutu

- Fanime Skit Costume with Mandy, Krystal and Rynn (plus all of our Ninjas of course) Princess Tutu will be very different for me as I am NOT graceful nor slender.(P90X PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE) I can't dance ballet to save my life, so here goes!
2. Tifa Lockheart
(Final Fantasy 7)
I was mainly looking for a girl costume that is pretty but not too overly skanky. Im not a huge fan of boobs showing so this helps!
3. Italy
(Hetalia)- Sakuracon skit costume! We have a pretty huge cast lined up for Sakuracons skit this year and I'm excited to get to work with my group again!<3
4.Polka
(Eternal Sonata)
I wanted to make something that would test my patience and this has been a great choice. Small details that aren't hard to do, just time consuming and adorable! Im excited for my ES Group that I'm hoping falls into place for Fanime, with Mandy as Chopin, Lizzie as Viola, Dane as Jazz, and I'm not sure if anyone else plans on joining in.
5.Shuichi Shindou
(Gravitation)
I made a Shuichi costume back in 2008 and it was terrible! Im hoping to do a better job on this costume. Especially since Mandy, Krystal and I are planning on a secret video!
6.Seras Victoria
(Hellsing)
Mandy and I have been talking about doing Victoria and Alucard together for awhile. Shes sort of into Vampires.
7.Cooro
(+Anima)
Cooro is adorable and will allow me to make an easy costume with a not-so-easy accessory: Wings. Ive never made wings before and I have always wanted to. However being an angel has never been on my list. Cooro was a perfect match! Also, he has 3 companions that strangely enough fit all the stereotypes, Mandy,Krystal,Rynn and I have set for ourselves. I'm hoping to have this done by AWA. I want to make the trip to GA to see Randi and Michele since they wont be making it to Sakuracon but I'd also like to enter Cooro for craftsmanship there and see how I do.
8.Casper

Another costume I spotted simply because its a group of 4, hoping for another chance to do a group with my friends again! Casper caught my eye because of all the bat wings and the halloween-esque accessories. BAT has become my nickname so naturally I was very excited!
9.Alois Trancy
(Kuroshisuji II)
I decided to do Alois a little while after Krystal asked me to be Elisabeth with her Ciel. Elisabeth is not my style at all! Haha and Im SO excited for Alois because he is such a little shit! Hes so devious and naughty, I love it! I'm always the good guy so this will be a nice change of pace!
Those are my plans for now! I have already started Tutu, Polka, and Tifa. Getting really excited everyone! YAAAY!
