Aww, this warmed my heart to read, KJ! I do hope you had at least a glass of orange juice to go with the fan fic and vid!!

I was really unsure about this one - but it's actually a lot harder to do than it looks, I think (for once I think I do make it look easy, but it had to be very precisely done or the edits would just clunk and thud!). I really love the song too - it's kind of like Frank Sinatra's "My Way" but less blustery and sentimental. Just right for Kara!!!

You had one scene in your gorgeous "Bye Bye Beautiful" that I searched and searched for but couldn't find....I know you'd have told me where you found it if I'd asked, but I was so in the thick of the vidding that I didn't want to wait....but here's a screencap to help you remember... Where was she when she was twirling her finger so cockily?

This is spectacular. Don't know how you do it, but you find songs that are cut from the fiber of your characters. This song couldn't be more perfect for Kara if she wrote it herself, the lyrics, the feeling..all of it. (and it's Tracy Chapman to boot.) Your editing is so superb, you don't miss a blink or opportunity in the music, every single visual is purposeful and fully part of the dance. It's amazing. You said my overlay envy wouldn't be effected with this one, ...ha..it's got my entire vidders envy is in full force. Each time I watch such a superbly edited video I think I can feel my vidding mojo falling farther into the abys

This song couldn't be more perfect for Kara if she wrote it herselfI agree....I also felt like it was her voice that Tracy was channelling...it *felt* like Kara was singing. It really was a joy to vid it. I really tried to make the video dance (i was imagining a soft shoe) and it's wonderful to hear you say that I exploited the music to the max

HRS! I have to thank you so much for your kind and detailed comments, and also for the wonderful surprise at finding them here. I especially appreciate it because it's obvious that you really have this show in your heart - i mean, how many people who have barely vidded Galactica would know that those walking legs at :44 were Kara's and Adama's? I'm glad you liked the overlay there - I thought it worked well too.

Love it. ♥ I really love how you carried on that same video camera look through 2:46 though, even with the flat corners, just like in the show. However you did that, nice job! :D It looks fantastic.((((hugs!!!!!)))) Again, you show your awesomeness in picking up on the "fake" documentary footage. You know, maybe I should seriously start to think how to get in my hands BSG because it's would be so much better for watching your work now... With my luck I'll watch it and become a fan long after everyone move into other fandoms and again I'll be late for a party:)

I'm glad you liked it! And the "recent speed" you refer to is just me trying to put ideas on the timeline before I forget them. But i worked on this particular vid for over two weeks (which is, I guess, below average time) but I hit a merciless wall at 1:30 or so and it took quite a while to figure out a way around it.

With my luck I'll watch it and become a fan long after everyone move into other fandoms and again I'll be late for a party:)

I'd love to see you vid BSG! It's one of those rare shows that can be vidded on a variety of levels.......and as for being late to the "party"....... the only real vidding "party" was Farscape's and though we sort of came in at the eleventh hour, I think we still made a mark.

This is a lovely character study for kara and a wonderful tribute to her. So many Kara vids are dour and depressing but I really like this. She is a tortured character but I rather think she would like this "I did it all" attitude herself - and I didnt miss the reference to long island tea, hmm I wonder who that reminds me of???

Thank you! I had so much fun vidding this song.....I got stuck in traffic a couple of weeks ago and played the CD straight through (something I rarely do) and was so elated. It struck just the right tone, the perfect amount of melancholy. The tinkling piano made me think of her duet with her father (I adore that episode so much I want to marry it!) and I was vidding it in my head, not caring a fig for the delay on the road.
