and you really did it justice. I love the scenes you choose, and most of all I love it that you`ve focused on the boy.
when he`s touching the airplane (at around 1.40), and the salut after, this still gives me goosebumps while watching. It`s one of my favorite moments in the movie. And you put it to good *!* use *happy sigh*
great song choice, great vid !
while watching, hubby checked what I was doing. Found me watching this video, and said "I know this movie" ... " nice vid!"
Hiya sweetie! I'm so happy you enjoyed this (and tell your hubby thank you too!)
I reworked this a bit (don't bother re-downloading) because although I had a great time vidding it, it really bothered me that vidding to drum rolls just escapes me, no matter how many times I try to learn from Master Vidders like yourself. This is why I don't vid much action - my style just doesn't accommodate to it.
But lol, I felt so guilty because many times I watch another person's vid and think "Didn't they hear the drum roll?" - knowing full well that they did, and like me, just chose to ignore it. *sigh* So I did try to match a few more beats than the original. But I'm still not satisfied with it. But anyway (rambling) I still like the vid - as......well, with a source like that what's not to like? xoxo
Thank you for taking a look! You should definitely see the movie - I think it's one of Spielberg's best. I had never heard this particular Kinks song before borrowing the second Sopranos CD from the library. It's the only track on the disk I kept, and it seemed right for this project. Which, btw - I entered over at DPTM, which is having a Special Theme Round for War vids. It's over here, if you wanna take a quick look: Driver Picks the Music
wow, that was really beautiful - i've never even heard of the movie, but it looks all kinda of awesome. i loved all the contrasts & movement you used; so touching & somehow very bittersweet, lovely all around!
Thank you so much for watching this, even tho you weren't familiar with the source. I'm thrilled that you enjoyed it.
You know, with all the pleasure your vids have given me, it's very gratifying to return the favor by introducing you to something as special (imho) as Empire of the Sun. It is all kinds of awesome - and also has something that no vid can really convey, and that is a truly gorgeous musical score (John Williams, of course). I can't imagine you won't love this movie!
aw, i LOVE watching vids for sources i don't know & since i know your vids are always really good... a logical decision really, *g* & i'm definitely putting the movie on my list, but i have so much things to watch i'm not sure when i'll get around to it. there are just so many wonderful, interesting movies & shows to know. too many :/

This means so much. Thank you!!!! and this is how I got "into" Criminal Minds, btw - by watching a vid from a source I hadn't even considered before.
