BSG Vid: Departure

I'm doing a major LOST re-watch (with three vids in mind) and this is what I come up with!!!! I lost a great deal of this vid when I lost power last weekend, but recovered enough to remember what the point of this all was.....and finally to finish it

This is a beautiful video, and the music works very well with it. I usually go for more dynamic vids, but this is just right as it is. Great work.

Thank you for saying so! I also prefer faster-paced vids, so this was a challenge, to keep the images moving, even at half-speed. And the music is just heartbreaking - perfect for the subject. Thanks again!

The black and white conversion actually took a lot of time - most of the clips look more beautiful and contrasty in color, and kinda drab in b&w....so it's all curves, levels, filters and other assorted adjustments. Not unlike Photoshop....which btw, let me know how that's all going! :-)

You posted it! I don't know how you make videos sooo fast and end up with such glorious looking things...but you do.

This is insanely gorgeous,....magnificently wistful..and as someone else said here, soooo Kara. Your videos always flow like none I've ever seen, images moving in and out of each other like liquid...just exquisite. For a vid whose timeline was lost and you had to recreate so much of it, it's amazing and again, I don't know how you do it all so quickly. You're a beautiful beautiful vid painter my friend....this is really quite a work of art.

Had to add too that while this music is so familiar as Lost music to me,.it works stunningly for this BSG story....you are amazing. ♥

I didn't start out to make a "glorious" overlaid vid - but the music and the subject just got the better of me.

I do think that Michael Giacchino's scoring of LOST can easily crossover from the Island to Space...but watching "House of the Rising Sun" where this music plays at the end, while Sun is trying to decide if she should leave Jin or go with him on 815 - her ambivalence and indecision just so mirrored Kara's own struggle with her destiny, I just saw the whole thing come together almost as one piece, which is probably why I was able to salvage so much of it.

No idea what's going on, but had to say that this is really pretty! Very flowy and comfortable and somber. Beautiful song. Ohhhh it's a LOST song. Cool. 8)
