[Personality]
Tidus went through some serious character development during the plot of Final Fantasy X. When he first arrived on Spira, he started off as a cocky, somewhat snobby brat. However that didn’t mean he was stupid. He survived on his own when he was trapped underneath the Baaj Temple. Meaning he’s smart enough to take care of himself. He only appeared childish to others because of his carefree attitude. He’s incredibly upbeat and cheerful for someone his age. If Tidus had the choice, he would avoid hardships. All he really wants to do is play around, have fun, and laugh. That trait was something he inherited from his father, Jecht. It was also something Tidus hated about his father. Tidus said he didn’t like it when Jecht ran away from his problems. Despite what he says, he actually inherited that trait himself. The irony.
Tidus is rather emotionally sensitive around others. At times he can get melodramatic, but it’s not his fault. When he was growing up, Jecht had often showed him the more difficult path and pressured him to take it. This is where Tidus’ maturity comes from. He is childish with a sense of maturity. He knows how to be serious. When he is faced with a decision, he uses rational thinking other people can agree on. It is difficult for Tidus to feel depressed. If he must, he will openly talk about what’s bugging him. Even if you won’t listen, he will voice his thoughts anyways because being noisy is the way he does things. Even though he stays strong in most situations, he is a cry baby. It is very easy for him to cry. He's a bad liar, and he can't lie to save his life. With that being said, he's a very out spoken person and he has no problems voice his thoughts to the public, and he is generally good at speeches and the such.
Back in Zanarkand, Tidus participated in various championship tournaments. He was a sports idol, which meant he had leader like qualities. Despite being famous, he wasn’t stuck up at all. He liked his fans and treated them all with respect. He was an ideal leader. People living on Spira found it difficult to believe this side Tidus story. Whenever he mentioned Zanarkand, they were usually shocked. It’s completely understandable since Zanarkand was destroyed by SIN 1000 years ago. As he explores Spira he meets Rikku and he gives her the same story he told everyone else. She advises him to refrain from speaking of Zanarkand since it was a holy city. He decided to stick with the whole “I was infected by SIN’s toxin.” story. Which was another way of saying- “I have amnesia.” Tidus would rather make other people feel comfortable, than to force them to believe his story.
During his travels with Yuna, he seemed to have changed her way of thinking. When they had finally reached the end of their pilgrimage, Yuna had to choose a guardian to become the Final Aeon. Tidus didn’t like that idea. He rationalized with the group and told them to make another option for themselves. If he has a strong dislike for something, he will try to find another alternative answer while keeping everyone’s interests in mind. He says he wants to take Yuna to Zanarkand, defeat Sin, and bring the calm all without sacrifice. He's naive since the party knows that it's impossible for him to accomplish all of that, so he resorted to another answer. If you can't do it, then just give up and be happy.He wants Yuna to be happy.It's what he wants more than the completion of the pilgrimage. When he notices other people feeling down on themselves, he feels an obligation to help them. No matter who it may be, a kid, old man, bar tender, ect. He will help them out, and put them over his priorities. The only time Tidus would actually get angry is if he was faced with someone who was constantly down on themselves. He will try to bring up their spirits since team work is everything to him. He will try his best to not leave anyone behind. Tidus is okay with touchy feel stuff. He can get overprotective, especially around Yuna. If someone hurts her they'll have to answer to him 8|
[Specialties/Abilities]
In battle, Tidus wields a sword. He is inexperienced with it and falls right behind Auron in terms of skill. He makes up for his lack of skill with his agility and accuracy. He relies on speed during battle. Tidus is a skilled swimmer.
[Affection] He won't mind hugs. It's probably safer to go with a pat on the back without things getting too awkward.
[Fighting] Tidus won't try to start a fight. However, if you provoke him, he won't let it go easy for you.
