I don't know about a grand plan, but I have experienced enough loss that I've had to look for what positives do exist. And losing someone like this does help us appreciate everyone else in our lives. It helps us understand how very connected we are, and how important each individual person is, including ourselves. It motivates us to take better care of ourselves, whether that's pulling over when we're driving tired, or eating better to take care of our health so we're here for others...
I know messages on the internet don't really amount to much, but please know that from this side of the world you have my most heartfelt sympathies. I am not religious but I will keep Karen, and her family, in my thoughts. She sounds like she was a fantastic woman, a real inspiration, and it is so, so awful that she was taken so soon. Many hugs to you.
