I love this. We got my brother to take in a cat on the street we had been feeding. I believe pets can sometime own you. They bring such a quiet joy to our lives in exchange for a bit of kibble.

Glad you enjoyed it - and thanks for listening to me rant about LJ, lol!

also, thanks for my Doctor Who icons - they're great!

I love that. I wasn't quite sure what I needed tonight and was restlessly flipping around my favorite places before closing up the laptop. This poem must have been what I was looking for. Thank you, Cat, for sharing.

Although, what took you so long? Are you holding out even more gems?

Arwen

PS I like your new icon. Sadly, the pictures you sent the other day wouldn't come through.

PPS. I think an icon of a black and white cat on a real keyboard would look smashing.

Glad you enjoyed the poem. It appealed to me, too!

Yeah, the icon is awesome, isn't it? The lovely and talented mi_nion made it for me - in fact, she's made most of the icons you've admired. I love that the blkandwhtcat is CANON in Doctor Who!

I am a terrible parent as I have taken NO pictures of CJ. The 'rents have some from holidays. I should swipe some of those, or take some myself. When I do, I'll definitely use them as icons.

cross-eyed
almost toothless, but the grace is back

Gracefully toothless: got to love that cat.

I swear, my LJ is fucking possessed. It chopped a huge portion right out of the middle of my response to you, so that what was left made no sense. Annoying.

Anyway -

the cat is not only gracefully toothless, but has no tail! A memorable cat.

That's a beautiful cat in your icon. Yours? Anothe LJ buddy of mine, larissa_j has a cat that looks a lot like that in her icons. He apparently loves Doctor Who, too, but I am canon!

Did you see that manna is getting the first story in TAS published? Can't wait to buy it. I am eternally grateful that you rec'd that series. It's fantastic! I can't wait for my favorite of all the stories to be published - First Against the Wall. I've probably reread that one about 10 times.

I'm pretty much done with QAF fic. The only story I read is one by arwensong (which you'd hate - it's B/OMC, and a seriously sexy OMC!). I've been reading fanfic based on an old UK show called "The Professionals," and I'm really enjoying it. It's apparently an old fandom, and a lot of the stories are very well written. Have you ever heard ( ... )

Alas, no. We cannot have pets because of all the travelling. But I'm sure I was a cat in a previous life, and find them irresistable.

From you. I'm not keeping up with TAS. Still love it and think it's the best m/m original fic I've ever come across on the internet, but I guess I've moved on. But please, let me know if she writes anything new! Agreed on First Against The Wall being the best.

I only hate fiction that is badly written, but you're right, I wouldn't read Brian/OMC: it's simply uninteresting to me. But how can you forget that I was the one who told you about "The Professionals" in the first place (I think)? Great series, that generated some great fic. I like especially the stories that get the British language, the London setting and the lifestyle of the period right.

This is funny, because you and faramir_boromir each claim to have introduced me to the fic that the other introduced me to! She thought she told me about TAS, and I did meet her at mannazone, but it was your LJ entry about TAS that led me to check it out (you really wrote a great description - manna should hire you for PR!), and I was amazed. It is, without doubt, the very best story I've read on the internet, and I'm not at all surprised it's being published. Brilliant, smart, creative original story with some of the most memorable characters I've ever encountered in ANY genre of fiction, including movies, TV and novels. I think manna mentioned at mannazone that she is working on another original story, but isn't going to post it until it's completed. I hope that's the case. She is remarkably talented.

But although you did indeed introduce me to TAS, it was faramir_boromir 's LJ post of her top ten Pros stories that introduced me to The Professionals fanfic ( ... )

Well, that has me tearing up.

My granddaughter found our cat in a dumpster. He was so thin you were in danger of cutting your hands on his backbone, hence the name, Razor. Not a cuddly cat, but very beautiful, now that he has (quite a lot of) meat on his bones. FanSee

Razor - that's a great name for a skinny cat! I'm glad you rescued him and gave him a good home. All cats should have good homes.
