An observation

While playing Yoshi's Island DS, I came to a conclusion of why the Black and White Yoshies (is that how it's pluralized?) are rare finds. They all seem to live in extremely dangerous areas (especially the black ones as I haven't unlocked all the stages that involve the White Yoshi yet). Actually, the Yoshis are the playable characters in this game. Each level in the world just has you playing a Yoshi of a different color.

I always pluralized them as "Yoshis". Also, I wouldn't necessarily assume you've killed them. Let's just assume they get a little banged up and have to get some treatment for the wounds and therefore you're made to find another Yoshi. :)

I'll agree with that. It's the real reason I finished the game with 170-something lives only to be reduced to the 110s after these secret stages.
