I have wanted to play drums for a long time, but we've always lived in apartments so we never gave it serious consideration. But since we bought the house, we have been talking about it a lot more - getting a small drum kit for me to learn on and for Anthony to play around on. Well, yesterday we did it. if yr gonna be a drummer, you have to learn the death metal way of playing.

1) sit behind kit
2) pick up drumsticks
3) hit ride/hi hats and snare very violently and very fast
4) make a face like you are screaming (because you are) with your tongue sticking out horrendously

i sent anthony this email yesterday...

"hi. I'm thinking that you and eric and i could start a metal band after i learn to play drums. here are names I've thought of: Scurvy Battalion, Tony Roid & the Inflamation. Can you think of others? Would Danny like to join or manage us?

Hey, what about me? I can play the keyboards...but not Metal though! ;-)

I think it's so great that you're playing! Maybe you can teach me a thing or two, I have always wanted to bang out on a drum set...I have pretty good rhythm, must be from all those years practicing with a metronome on the piano.
