Sighs

Yesterday, my checking account got overdrawn because someone cashed a check I wrote over 3 weeks ago. I thought it'd been cashed already . . . yeah, I'm no good at keeping track of my own money. Other people's, yes; my own, no. I've usually got a general idea, but this time, that idea was off about $15. >.< The sad thing is that both checks that ( Read more... )

Yes, yes it does. Mainly because I haven't been that together lately, and so I just popped online to see if there was enough money without thinking about past checks . . .

wow, overlook an overdrswn charge? My bank has never done that. =( I got over drawn once b/c Verison b/c their money came out of my account on the exact day I said to (that was the ONLY time it's ever happened to date yet, usually it comes out a day later). So yeahs, I was expecting Verison to come out on Friday (after my paycheck had been deposited, but it came out on Thursday, along with some other smaller bills. All of which would have put me a total of $30 over. So 4 things would have taken me over, and EACH one I got charged $37.50 for. $30 of overage cost me $150 in fees. >_< yeah even a .99 item got a $37.50 over draw charge. If my phone bill would have come out when it ALWAYS did/still does, it would have saved me so much money =( I'm seriously not happy with Huntington... but I HATE having to go through everything I have set up and change it all, since everything I have is direct deposit and paid online. o.O ( ... )

Well, technically it's not a bank--it's a credit union. Maybe they're more lenient with overdraft fees? I only get one freebie, though.

So, basically, if the smaller things had gone through first, you'd only have one overdraft fee? Ouch. >.< I'm not sure how mine works . . . though I've never had that many things do that. I guess I'm just lucky that I caught it. Though, if I had direct deposit, I think I would have been safe. Dangit. Maybe I should have set that up. I'm still hoping that this job will be temporary, though.

Do you live in a smaller city? There's at least 4 school districts near me, so I'm hoping that it will be enough to give me at least 3 days a week or so. Subs in three that I've looked into get paid $90 a day, plus more if you're in the same class for a certain number of days in a row. I just drove into the capital to get my fingerprints done less than a week ago, so it will probably be at least a month before I'm actually working.
