Wow, that looks awesome!! And great job if it all works as it should. I've never built a computer but I think I've seen one's guts before and yours looks very pretty and neat. =)
Was it cheaper than getting a new computer? How long did it take you to put it together?
It works GREAT! It's really an awesome upgrade. :)
All the parts (minus the case, since I used my old one) cost around $600 (after purchasing the power supply). I really do feel it was MUCH cheaper than buying from Dell or Apple. Most specifically because I bought an Intel Core 2 Quad processor when Dell's mainstream start with the Core 2 Duo, yet I spent a LOT less.
It took me several hours, partly because of the power supply issue. All said and done, from take down (11:30 a.m.) to full install (9 at night), it was 9.5 hours. It would have taken less time had I not been running a fever and if I had purchased a new power supply with the rest of the parts.
It can be time consuming, especially when little errors throw you off. But all in all, I can't believe that's how World of Warcraft REALLY looks. I've been missing out. :)
