US Elections

I was watching CSpan yesterday (the show it on BBC Parliament) and it had a few people that thought it would be better for the Democrats if they *don't* win today because they won't be able to fix everything and so they will get the blame instead of the Republicans, leading to a Repuglican president again. They thought perhaps if things stay the ( Read more... )

Aww, FLOTUS and Elmo! You really loved that WW episode, didn't you? ;)

I personally think that that doesn't matter. In the eyes of Americans right now, they wouldn't want to elect another Republican for president since the last eight years have been so glorious. The general sentiment (at least in my opinion) is that Americans are fed up with all the crap the Republicans have been doing during their terms. I know I am.

It felt good to vote and to have a voice for a change. I can't wait two years from now, my first presidential election!

Yes, I did. It was just such a random juxtaposition!

I really hope you are right. The rest of the world is also fed up, we just got there faster.

I wish I could vote. How easy is it to get US citizenship? I wonder if I can find a couple of gay guys who will marry to get us green cards.

Another proof that you guys are smarter than us. ;)

Well, you have to be a permanent resident for 10 years and then you can apply for citizenship. The whole process is pretty easy actually. LOL, that's a quicker alternative. ;)

If the Dems don't win, there is no oversight for the continuing disasters of Bush, and popular legislation that the Repubs refuse to bring to a vote will still be suppressed. It's impossible to tell what the '08 climate will be like, and the Presidency isn't everything.

So, nuts to that. ;)

That is, I suppose, also true. Though I can see it going either way since 50% of the country were dumb enough to elect Bush. Well, possibly. Though electronic voting is a total sham.

And yay for the Democrats! Made my crappy day pretty good.
