` I wasn't sure this month would get done in time, between having been accidentally drafted into being charity quilt coordinator/cutter (96+ kits done by me, TYVM) and having the machine in for service and being really busy.
I think your first one is more successful than the second, but I still think that second combo is fine. It's just a different take on it.
I'm very excited for you getting a new machine. I have a Viking and I just bought a Juki. I LOVE the Juki (much more than the Viking). The only advantage the Viking as for me is a longer throat for quilting, but otherwise I'll be using the Juki all the time. The Baby Lock looks awesome and it's great that you could make a whole project on one before buying it.

I have one quilt top that as I worked on it, I was like meh. But then once I got it done. WOW! I loved it!
I doing a values quilt with the Jacobs ladder block, and just one block, ok it's not bad. But When many of them are together, I really like it.
