Stoicism and its Untimely Demise

I feel a bit hypocritical marking this loss with any grief, as I am not a Stoic in any real sense. I am extremely emotive, with my joys and sadnesses being both deeply felt and frequently shared. Yes! I *so* see that with the newer medics! I hate it when new medics get liberal about 'drying up' calls. "He didn't want to go, not my issue." You need to recognize your patient's cultural perspective as you listen to their words. I love my older clients, even when they drive me nuts, and I hope I never walk away from a real chest pain because I didn't pry enough ( ... )
