After landing at Heathrow I turned on my phone and got a text from my friend, telling me she is now engaged.  I was really happy for her.  Tonight we were supposed to be going to a pub quiz.  I texted her on Tuesday asking her if she wanted to come.  She said yes.  Hadn't heard anything from her today, saying about times we were meeting so I texted ( Read more... )

I just don't think "no I'm not coming to your wedding as I'll be at Leeds Fest" will go down well with my friend.

It doesn't feel like it'll be that easy just to tell her.

I've told her I'm not free on that day, I just haven't said why.

I know exactly how you feel. Since the birth of bebo, all I've had is messages from old school friends, ones who are all married/engaged and living with their boyfriend. To be honest, aside from one friend everyone in school is in that situation.

Its why im not going to grad ball, I don't want another reminder that im single, while everyone else has their partner.

As much as I like to pretend im fine with it, I would love to be settled. But reminders like weddings, uni events don't exactly make me feel much better about myself.x

I'm too selfish to settle down at the moment. I'm always going away so they'd probably get fed up with that.
