Okay, may I'm not getting the rant, but I also have health insurance that I pay for our of my paycheck every month. Now, what is interesting is that I have dental and I'm sure my teeth would not have gotten to that point since it pays for exams and cleaning every 6 months without any fees. So, kinda different than what you might be thinking.

yeah, that is interesting... there have been many different responses to my "rant" about healthcare... some said that thier insurance only covered 80% and the rest of the bill would be couple of hundred dollars, others quoted sums into the thousands...

the thing with the NHS as a free (or partially free) system is that it meant that those who cannot afford the insurance, for whatedver reason will at least be able to get some level of basic care.

i guess i feel so strongly about it because not only have i grown up with that system, but it also seems "right" to me, morally speaking... and im biased cos i have seen friends suffer cos they cant afford to go to the docs - even to simply find out what is making them ill.
