I know you probably already know this, but Bollywood is complete escapism when compared to India in reality - the opposite to what it actually is. I hated India (it really got to my delicate sensibilities :P) with a passion, but I also learnt a lot, and grew so much wiser and stronger for the experience. It's so crazy over there - whatever preconceptions you currently have, i'm sure they'll be blown right out of the water. Good money will go a long way there.
I've been before & I absolutely loved it, so I know exactly what I'm up for & can't wait :) I love the harmony within chaos that is India & it's a world of extreme contrasts. After my first trip I wanted to live there for a year but decided to knuckle down & go to uni instead ...though I learnt more from 1 month in India than I did in a years worth of Uni! The best lesson I learnt is that despite living in absolute poverty & having nothing ...if not less than nothing (disease, hunger etc) these people still know how to smile, find some happiness & get on with their lives.
see that's the thing, some people love it, others don't - i think most people who go have a love-hate relationship... It made me so angry to see how badly that country needs help, but yeah, the barely controlled chaos is what makes it's amazing, and by god that place left me gob-smacked, even after traveling all throughout south east asia and the pacific. Did you tell me you'd been? sorry I must have forgot. Bollywood shits me to no end.
glad you've got that to look forward to, have fun, babe!
