"And I'm leavin' on a jet plane, don't know when I'll be back again...."

I'm technically leaving in a car and I know that I'll be back in 3 1/2 months, but it's the same kind of feeling ( Read more... )

Now THIS feels like signing a yearbook. 'Manda, you're an awesome girl, a GEM! I had a great year with you and I can't wait for next year. And I can't wait to take ethics and existentialism and call you at three in the morning to discuss the aforementioned nature of morals. It's gonna be great! You'll have to make your way out to CA at some point during the next three years. I can't wait for Malaga!!!! Alright, have a safe ride home. I said goodbye to you like literally seven minutes ago. Haha, hope you don't hit any traffic. Call me!

Home is the people not the place. I so agree. But also, sometimes I think it is the place. Because I think that no matter what, for the rest of my life, I will always consider North Canton to be home. Even when I'm old, with a family of my own and I live somewhere else... Going to North Canton will always be a homecoming to me. Does that make sense?

It was weird when I first started to consider Miami home. I think I tried to do it too soon. I kept thinking I had nothing left back here in North Canton. But I do still have some people here. And some fragments of my former life that I'm putting back together to make my summer life. It's weird.

I'm still jealous of the fact that you were so close to everyone on your floor, that you all got along and hung out together regularly. You seemed to find so many close friends so easily. I'm sure that most of those will last. And you'll make new friends next year too. You'll have a whole new floor....

I can't wait to see you yo.

no, I def. agree....in some ways, NC will *always* be home. It will always have that feeling of homeyness to it. and I think I'll always call it home too, in the sense that "i'm going back home to visit my parents" even if I'm 30, ya know?

summer life will be weird. it'll be interesting though. cool, i think. different.

i'm a huge fan of it, i have to admit. although it meant less friends outside the dorm, which was sad.

i can't wait either!! soon, yo, soon.

I think for most people, most of their friends came from their dorm. I mean I had the occasional friend from class or an activity... but mostly from the dorm. It's weird. I wonder if that's a mostly freshman thing?

from what i've heard it def. is a freshman thing. b/c by the time you're an upperclassman, you've already got friends & you're rooming with some of them & so you don't need your dormmates. freshman year though, you do need them b/c you're just trying to meet everyone possible & they're the ones you spend a lot of time with, so it's only natural. i guess we'll see though.
