JK Rowling's handwritten book sold yesterday for £1.95 millionWho would pay such an extortionate amount? I was wondering yesterday afternoon whilst stuck at my desk wishing I was rich. Some lucky child is going to have a very nice present under the tree from an extremely rich but guilty parent

I bought the catalogue featuring it from Sotheby's for my sister, which is the closest I'll get to it.

Did they show much of it in the catalogue?

not much of the actual stories, but they showed several pics of the book and several of the making of the book and the letter from JKR inside it. It also had the cover art engraved on it, it was really beautiful.

It does look gorgeous!

And her illustrations look brilliant - I wonder if all 7 books are the same? I guess we'll never know though!
