Phone the neighbor, wake the dog! Steve and I will be having a dual birthday gathering at Sidekicks, our favorite karoake bar, on Saturday, June 30, starting at about 8. Steve's b-day is May 30 and mine is June 11. June 30 may seem a bit distant given our birthdays, but there is a bunch happening lately so we thought this date could work for most ( Read more... )

Sorry about the timing. We tried to schedule it for two other weekends in June but they fell through due to other events. So I offer two suggestions for you.

1) we could always combine birthdays at Sidekicks (you wouldn't have to worry about parking :-) and they serve food and non alcaholic drinks there as well. Plus there'd be singing) or....

2) per talking with Meg, of course, we could reschedule it.....again.....to the next weekend, July 7th.

I don't know if it should matter, all things considered, your event is an evening, mine would be a midday, afternoon, evening outing. Its a probability that a combo phenomenon would be alright... but I don't want to make the Argonne people drive to Chicago. I duno, maybe they'd enjoy it... I'm sure they'd love the bar aspect, but I haven't seen them exspress any alcoholic interests other than cultivated wines and standard beers.

I duno, I'm going with a "durrrrrrr stupid effect" I cant think too well right now, I'll pretend I'm drunk. Yeah, thats it.... I'm drunk.

The great thing about Sidekicks is that you don't need to drink at all to enjoy it. It's first and formost a karokee establishment complete with a stage. You don't have to drink if you don't want to. Sidekicks is not a place you go for booze, it's a place you go to sing.
