A Notable Anniversary, of sorts....

It was just brought to my attention that today is the 31st anniversary of The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald. This ship, immortalized in song by Gordon Lightfoot, went down on Lake Superior in 1975, on November the 10th, during a sudden and surprise storm, with all 29 hands lost in the wreck

Now that's two of us.

I always thought that was more or less a great lakes thing. The ship was on it's way here to Cleveland, from Minnesota.

Actually, truth to tell, it was someone from Minnesota that brought the anniversary to my attention.

Who hasn't heard the song, at least once, in their lifetimes who frequents this board, or at least my LJ friendslist?

Just thought it deserved a mention. May they all rest in peace!
