Being a girl is harder then anyone thinks to tell you. There's no real handbook to dealing with what the world expects of you. There's a certain way to cut your hair, or wear your clothes. There's a certain way to look at people. That's the trickiest one. You have a way to look at girls you want to be friends with, and girls you wish would die. There's a ways to look at boys too. These, you learn, are more confusing then anything else you'll ever discover.
There's a way to look at the guys you wish to be friends with, there's a way to look at the guys you wish would leave you alone forever, and there's a way to look at that one special boy that catches your eye in a new and different way.
That is, if you find him. That's the hardest thing to do. How can you know what kind of boy should catch your eye if you've never ventured into this 'pool' before?
Being a girl, it's one of the hardest things the universe could place on a person, and it chose our frail feminine shoulders.

Ramona sighed, questioning her sanity for the umpteenth time. She was looking into universities, Brown, Princeton, Yale.
So why was she with a guy who didn't know the meaning of the word obnoxious?
"Nevermind." she brushed off his questions, and initiated another make-out session.
Oh, right, this was why she stuck around. Todd Ingram may have been stupid, the poor boy had the I.Q. of a puppy dog, at best, but he was able to unquestionably control her. Not personally, nor mentally, but physically he forced her to give into him.
It wasn't a bad thing, Ramona wished more of her trysts had the balls to stand up to her.
For that, most of the time she was able to ignore the stupidity.
She was able to ignore the stupidity, until she met Roxy Richter who was smart, and had a temper that put Ramona to shame.

Natalie Veronica Adams was a good girl, up until college. The only trouble she'd ever managed to get into was in first grade, when she sucker-punched the class bully for calling her a carrot.
So when she moved into her dorm, and her room mate offered her a joint, Natalie had no idea what to do.
When the dorky-cute boy from her English class asked her out, then-later-back to his apartment, she didn't know what to expect.
She didn't know that saying yes to these things would be the triggers that put her on the path to NV Adams.
